Baby Announcement Canvas

I've been seeing these baby announcements all over Pinterest and Etsy.com.

I think they are SO cute but being a college students wife...we don't have $30+ to buy one.   So I decided to make my own for a total of $0!

There are a couple ways to do your own.  You can use a piece of wood with vinyl lettering, canvas and stencils, or what I did (cause I already had the supplies) canvas and hand painting lettering.

Canvas-(I like to find paintings at D.I. or Thrift Stores for super cheap and paint over it!)
Paint
Brushes
and a Pencil

I just painted the canvas the background color I want. Then pencil the lettering you want and then paint the words! So easy!

Here is how they turned out.

I love Painting!

Painting is one of my loves! I love to use color, lines, textures and emotion in my paintings. There is nothing more exciting than sitting down in my living room, channeling into the emotions I'm feeling at that moment, and then just letting the paint brush go on the canvas.

Here are some of the pieces that I have done recently.

Dancing in the Rain

Families Together

The Teton Mountains

Love in the Rain

Bountiful Temple

Beauty and the Beast Rose

Proud to be an American

Brooklyn Marie

Brooklyn will be a month old tomorrow November 1st. Wow, I can't believe its already been a month! In on month she has managed to gain a pound, grow 2 inches and roll over for the first time! (she rolled over Oct 29th!) But let me start a little from the beginning since I have never talked about her before....other than the fact shes not very photogenic. lol

Brooklyn was due September 27th and the little stinker she is came 3 days late.

I was so huge my stomach would almost touch my knees when sitting down! I started hating going to work because when I got around 8 months everyone would ask how overdue I was and I still had a month to go! My favorite (said with dripping sarcasm) is when people at work would ask if I was still pregnant...I'd stare down at my stomach for like 3 seconds and back at them "yep, still pregnant"....

32 weeks

38 weeks
40 weeks
But September 30th I began having contractions early that morning, so of course I went shopping, painted a picture frame, went walking at Nature Park in 50 mile and hour winds, and then finally late that afternoon went to my doctors to see if this was it!

I was dilated to a 4! So after getting some Nelson's frozen custard with my husband, we went to the hospital at 8 pm to have our baby! After a lot of pushing and then resulting in vacuumming her out, (her heart rate was spiking cause of all the liquid she was swallowing) she was finally born at 3:41am October 1st, 9lbs 2oz and 22 inches long!

Cute Bagley Family!
Brooklyn held up her head for the first time October 1st around 3pm, and has stolen our hearts since the moment she was born. :)

Failed Photo Shoot

I think as mothers we all KNOW that our children simply are the best.  Its not a matter of opinion its basic and solid fact.

And then our children have 'moments'.  These moments are moments that may alter the fact that our children are the best.  I call these moments the "Whose kids are those?" moments. lol

Well my daughter always has these 'moments' every time I try and attempt a photo shoot.  Why can't she be like all those cute tiny adorable babies like on pinterest and sleep through the whole thing so I can move and dress her how I want?

Nope.

Here are some examples of the last photoshoot.

Screaming Baby

The Wanderer

Jazz Hands

Biker Chick

Hate Naked Pose

Darth Sidious

and the Pirate...really?
Oh man.....whose kid is that? lol

Well I guess I'll claim her. She is pretty cute, even if she can't take a good picture.

After taking about 100+ shots here are some good ones we did get.

Looks like a perfect angel right? So of course these are the only ones on facebook to show that I do have the best kid. ;)
