I was sitting down one day watching 'What Not To Wear' and
holding my daughter Brooklyn, who was about one month old, when I had an
epiphany. In all the episodes I was watching the women were hiding; hiding
behind ugly clothes or the extreme opposite, very tight and revealing clothes.
They were hiding behind long hair, hiding behind a lot of make-or lack
thereof. They were ignoring themselves by not giving themselves time to look
pretty because they didn't think they were beautiful or worth it.
It was then it struck me how most women don't love themselves or think they are beautiful and I never want my daughter to think that of herself.
I want her to love herself, be her own best friend. I want her to know she is beautiful inside and out and radiate self-confidence. I want her to know who she is and be truly happy.
I’m working on a project to discover why most of us women have a difficult time with our physical appearance. What makes us uncomfortable about our body? Our looks? Why do we go on so many diets? Or feel the need to change our appearance?

Once we understand the ‘why’ then we can figure out how to truly
be happy with ourselves and see our true beauty.
